Personal History		Aabros never developed the mental gifts that most of his people take for granted. This caused great embarassment to his mother, the Matriarch Ascendant of the Eighth House of Betazed - the House of Intuition. To cover her shame, she arranged for Aabros to be kept off world, and had him trained in the art of cold reading so that he could fake being a typical Betazoid when in the company of those without empathic or telepathic gifts of their own. In spite of his lack of gifts, Aabros did have very high intuition and intelligence. He chose to pursue a career in counseling, in part because he knew the weight of crushing expectations and he wanted to help others navigate those and other difficult emotions. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the USS Constitution as a staff counselor. The ship was assigned to be onsite for construction of Deep Space 18 in the Gamma Quandrant. When the Constitution was recalled to a Federation shipyard on the other side of the wormhole to repair its warp engine, Aabros stayed on the station to continue counseling the workers that were having difficulty with the isolation.
